ClaroSpeak™ is the first assistive technology app from Claro Software, available on iOS for iPad or iPhone. ClaroSpeak is a high quality text-to-speech reader capable of speaking any accessible text with a range of human high quality voices. Claro Interfaces at Naidex National 2012

Claro Interfaces will be attending the Naidex National 2012 show on the 1st-3rd May 2012. The takes place at the NEC, Birmingham and is the UK’s largest disability, homecare and rehabilitation exhibition.

Claro representatives will be on hand at stand C6 to demonstrate our Claro Interfaces product range. Our software is developed specifically for users who have problems accessing the computer. Offering alternative mouse input options, Claro Interfaces aims to make technology accessible to everyone, no matter what the disability.

With many new features and improved usability, ClaroRead for PC V6 delivers our best reading and writing support tool to date. Designed with maximum simplicity, adaptability and flexibility, users of any age and level of ability will have a world of information unlocked through ClaroRead.

New In ClaroRead for PC V6

Scan From Screen Feature
The new Scan From Screen function can capture and OCR on-screen text to make it accessible. The converted text can then be read back or pasted into a Microsoft Word document. This means that users can now access and read out loud anything that is on the computer display.

New Prediction Dictionaries
ClaroRead now includes subject specific dictionaries that can be used when writing in specific subjects, such as Business Studies or Biology. A larger English prediction dictionary has also been included. Each dictionary can be combined or used in isolation giving the user full control.

Word Prediction Modes
ClaroRead introduces new ways in which the word prediction feature can function.

Completion – Will offer suggestions based on the letters that have been entered. For example, typing ‘p’ will bring up ‘page’ and ‘place’.
Phonetic – Will offer suggestions from what has been typed phonetically. For example typing ‘ka’ will bring up ‘company’ and ‘country’.
First & Contains – Will suggest words using the first letter entered as the first letter of the word. Each letter entered after that will be contained somewhere in the word in the correct order. For example, typing ‘st’ will bring up ‘site’ and ‘September’.
Contains Anywhere – Will suggest words where the letters are found anywhere at all in the word. For example, typing ‘gt’ will bring up ‘against’ and ‘containing’.

Our powerful visual mapping tool, ClaroIdeas is now included as part of ClaroRead Pro, Plus and Standard. ClaroIdeas will help users and groups to capture their ideas, pictures, research notes, web page links, audio and video files with more freedom, flexibility and creativity. Enhanced Spelling
Included are thousands of new spelling corrections and suggestions to support users with common spelling mistakes. Coupled with the context, phonetic and grammar spelling features in Microsoft Word 2010, ClaroRead for PC is an unbeatable spell-check engine.

Save to Video
The Save to Video feature has been enhanced with improved video outputs formats. Text can be saved as video and played back on media devices, such as an iPad or Android devices.

Enhanced Colour Options
Background colour highlighting will now work when reading back in Internet Explorer and Adobe PDF.

Claro Software are at CSUN 2012, the 27th Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference. Thousands of delegates and visitors are attending the event, hosted at Carlifornia State University, to see cutting tecnology and practical solutions to aid people with disabilities in education and the workplace.
