Technical Information
- The old ESDNow protection mechanism will soon be switched off (April 2017) as Dedicon are moving over to their own protection mechanism.

- .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile.
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 runtime.
- 1GB RAM
- 50MB hard drive space.
- An internet connection is required to activate new books and all books, once every 30 days.

New features
- Highlight colours – you can now change the colour of highlight colour in BookReader.
- Quick voice language change – enabling the secondary languages feature allows to you set a voice for a particular language and quickly switch to that voice by selecting it in the dropdown menu on the main toolbar.
- New document open mechanism – files that are opened now only have to be converted once – the first time they are opened. This means instant openenings of documents, after you open them for the first time.
- The annotation toolbar is now enabled by default.
- The progress bar that shows when you are openeing a document for the first time, should be more responsive and not cause the app to hang.
Bugfixes
- Added some missing text localisations.
- Annotations should now be remembered when upgrading to a newer version of BookReader.
- Fixed an issue where annotations were only read out, if they were in the first document.
- Fixed some issues with the page number not being correctly updated.
- Fixed an issue with save dialogues inadvertently appearing when adding annotations to protected documents.
- Fixed an issue where the Print option was disabled for unprotected documents.
- Fixed an issue where the Accessibility settings were not being remembered.
- Fixed an issue where the Settings for BookReader were being corrupted and preventing BookReader from starting.
Known issues
- On very rare occasions, the Settings for BookReader may be reset. This will happen when they are corrupted and would prevent BookReader from starting.

New features
- PDF files are now opened in tabs, allowing you to open multiple files at the same time.
- You can now close a PDF file without having to close BookReader.
- Comments and annotations are automatically saved for ESD PDF files.
- New Export menu item added.
- This option allows you to export pages to an image. For normal PDF files this is unrestricted.
- For ESD PDF filesthis is restricted to the current page and is greyscale.
- New Annotations menu item added. This option allows you to import and export an annotations file.
- New Echo words option added to the Speech Settings menu.
- This can be enabled to echo words that you type into PDF form fields and annotations.
- Window title has been updated to use a more accurate PDF file name.
- Annotations and form field content can now be spoken by selecting them and pressing the play button.
Improved features
- Should now interact successfully with ClaroRead and ClaroCapture.
- Fixed file associations.
- Updated the ClaroPDF.dll to be able to handle more ESD PDF files.
