ClaroRead V5 Feature Change List

Focus Sentence Feature
The new focus sentence feature greys or dims out sentences in Microsoft Word not being spoken by the ClaroRead voice. This is helpful for focussing the eye on the text, and tracking the position in a document.

Word Trail Feature
The word trail feature makes words colour progressively as they are spoken by ClaroRead. This mode allows effective word by word highlighting, with minimal visual disruption.

Word Highlighting
Any colour can be chosen to highlight the text, allowing the user to chose what is most suitable.

Improved Spell Check Feature
Word Check now gives extra definitions, context for the current spelling, and a Google search link within the improved Word Check window. Improved spellcheck functions detect if the cursor in a homophone when clicked and starts homophone or spellchecking the whole document or paragraph. Ability to Ignore All in the homophone checkl is also included

Improved Look
New visual look on toolbar and dialogs to make the applications more welcoming, especially on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Spell Check Customisation
The corrections made in the ClaroRead spellcheck dialogue are remembered and learned, and can be reviewed. Use this information to build a personal correction list for particular needs so the preferred correction is always there at the top in spellcheck.

Personal Corrections
Use the Advanced Settings Editor to add personal corrections directly to Word’s Autocorrect and custom dictionaries, so when the personal spelling errors are inputted, the correction is automatically done.

New Fonts
The Tiresias extra-readable font, specially designed for optimum accessibility and usability, is now one of the Font Toolbar dropdowns and is installed by ClaroRead for use in all the PC applications

Improved Control in Microsoft Word
Improved control over reading with Control and Up/Down Arrow in Word, allowing a whole paragraph to be read at a time.

ClaroCapture
he new ClaroCapture program allows for information and records to be collected for the creation of research and build documents while keeping track of where everything came from. A great study and organisation tool.

Omnipage 16
ClaroRead Plus now uses the updated Omnipage 16 engine, which gives faster and more powerful scanning, including a rich new Preview function that can pick scan order, size, orientation and other settings.

Improved Performance
We’ve worked to improve performance. ClaroRead 5 is faster and more reliable than ever.

Pronunciation Editor
In the Pronunciation editor, by adding a space at the end of the word - this is shown as a "#" — will change the pronunciation of that word only, and not plurals and other forms of the Word.

Web Check Box
A new checkbox in the Advanced Settings Editor controls whether the Internet Explorer's virtual cursor appears when the cursor clicks on a web page.

Improved Advanced Settings Editor
The Advanced Settings Editor can now be found in Extras so it’s easier to get to it for users. It has also been re-designed.

New Keyboard Shortcuts
Shortcut added to mute ClaroRead — Control and F8. Also turns off homophone sounds.

Improved Word Prediction
ClaroRead can now set how many characters must be typed before prediction activates in Advanced Settings Editor.

Extra Voices
