
Product Manager
Katri has an MSc in Economics from Turku School of Economics and Business Administration in Finland. She came to the UK for the summer after spending a university term in Japan, and 25 years later, she is still here! She speaks six languages: Finnish, Swedish, English, German, Spanish and Japanese. She joined LexAble company in 2019 and is a product manager for Global AutoCorrect, Global Tasks and ClaroRead products.
In her spare time, Katri likes to spend time outside, play tennis, travel and read.

Development Manager
Alasdair did his PhD in Assistive Technology at the University of Manchester and joined Claro Software in the early days. He used to write code – including ClaroRead and the free open-source WebbIE programs for blind people – but now mainly manages Claro Software. He enjoys musical theatre and has appeared on stage many times playing jesters and princes, but he now mainly spends his time playing boardgames.

Senior Developer macOS
Michelle joined Claro in 2006 after obtaining her first-class degree in Computation at UMIST (now the University of Manchester). She has coded, tested and even shipped (in the early days!) the software we produce. Nowadays she manages and codes Claro Software’s Mac products. Michelle enjoys spending time with her family & friends, going to TV & film conventions and occasionally taking on an obstacle course race!

Product Manager
Stuart is a chartered engineer, scientist and product designer and has worked in medical devices, clinical measurement, healthcare innovation and assistive technology. He has made lots of things to aid people’s mobility, comfort, safety, and conversation, including custom walking frames, complex clinical measurement software, special switches for those with very limited mobility, keyboards that can be used with feet, and even a phone app to help someone see upside down!
He is also committed to helping people live with spinal cord injury, and once customised a wheelchair and joined the team to take the chair’s quadriplegic user to the top of a mountain (and back down again)!
In his spare time, he makes beer, fosters hedgehogs, writes short stories, and composts things.

Sales Manager
As Claro Software Sales Manager, Elkie has more than 24 years of sales, editorial and publishing experience, Throughout her career, Elkie has worked with organisations across a wide range of industries but more specifically within the Public Sector — from education, cyber security, health care and local and central government. Her role at Claro is to ensure that our assistive technology software connects with the heart-beating people we are trying to help. Her aim is to ensure that people with dyslexia/disabilities have access to software that will create opportunities for them in Education, Inclusion and Participation. In her spare time Elkie is a Mummy to her two lovely little monsters, she loves to travel, eating extremely spicy food and indulging in her guilty pleasure of mindless reality TV and playing on the games console when the kids are not around.

Support Engineer
Jamie is an IT Technician. He makes sure our systems are running well and kept up to date as well as managing the phone system, Audio/Visual equipment and other IT Hardware/Software. He also provides customer support and carries out Software Testing/QA . His interests are gaming, technology and spending time with his children.

Technical Writer
Mahinda finished his MEng in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at UMIST (now part of the University of Manchester, sadly) and promptly fell into a technical writing job. Over 20 years later, he’s still a technical writer, producing help, manuals, and training courses for Claro Software. Outside work, Mahinda’s interests include hockey, travel, and real ale – but usually not at the same time.

Business Administrator
Fallon is a trained business administrator and hairdresser, and is now responsible for sales and admin at Claro. In her spare time she enjoys investigating the paranormal, the spiritual side of life and travelling. Fallon’s favourite all time thing is making memories with her daughter and loved ones.

Marketing Specialist
Andrius joined Claro family as a Marketing Assistant in 2019 after completing a postgraduate degree with Distinction level at the University of Central Lancashire in “Science in International Tourism and Hospitality Management”. He is responsible for social media, events, advertising and Claro website. Andrius speaks three languages: English, Lithuanian and Russian. In his spare time, he goes to the gym, explores the world and plays video games.

Product Specialist
Philip worked as a DSA software trainer for around 10 years with one of the largest training providers in the sector. Prior to becoming a trainer, he worked for a DSA equipment Supplier. He has a passion for helping people as he likes to pass on his experiences as a dyslexic person himself in the hope they succeed. This is why he has been a trainer for so long. He lives with his wife, two children and 9 mad dogs that keep them on their toes. He enjoys playing PC games and has an old Amiga A600.

Software Developer
Chrome
UCLan graduate turned full-stack developer, Dan joined us in 2018 as a student and went full time in 2019. He maintains a lot of our code base including ClaroRead Chrome and anything server related (so if it’s down its probably his fault). He enjoys playing video games in his spare time and works on developing his own games with his friends from University.

Software Developer
HTML/JS
Danesh graduated from the University of Central Lancashire and working as an HTML/JS software developer at Claro Software. He has a strong passion for making software that is helpful for people. Danesh is a big sports fan, and as well as watching games he loves to compete in sports such as Football and Basketball. His favourite football team is Manchester United.

Senior Developer Web
Paul found sea sickness an insurmountable hurdle in his career in the navy so swapped the high seas for C# and C++, joining Claro Software as a student developer in 2011 and now focussing primarily on JavaScript and web technologies. He enjoys hiking and climbing in his spare time, but what’s a mountain on the weekend when you’re climbing mountains of (efficient, sustainable, and modern) code in the week?
