Alasdair King, Director of Claro Software, was recently interviewed on the Radio 4 program ‘In Touch’.

The Radio 4 show highlighted the problems that have arisen for screen reader users who use the BBC IPlayer website. A change to the service has meant that it is now more difficult to use a screen reader to access the radio shows.

The show highlighted WebbIE – the free web browser developed by Alasdair for blind people. This can be used to access the BBC iPlayer content using a screen reader.

Alasdair was interviewed on the radio show and said; “WebbIE is a free suite of computer programs for blind and vision impaired people. It is designed to work with any screen reader and lets you do things very easily, such as browse the web, listen to podcasts and reading PDF files”.
