  • ClaroPDF iOS 3 is now fully integrated with the iOS Files App.
    • Create new folders, rename files, copy files, move files and more, all directly from the Files app.
    • Open files directly in to ClaroPDF by selecting them from any location in the Files App.
    • Now supports “open in place” so you can open a file directly in ClaroPDF and edit it and your changes will automatically be synced and saved to the original file. You no longer need to manually import and export the file.
  • Merge PDFs – you now have the option to combine multiple PDF files in to a single file.
  • Adds 6 new Acapela Kids voices available as optional add-ons.

  • Access to all of the iOS system voices, including the Siri voices.
    • This gives you greater choice, including male and female variants for the same language.
  • New camera view, with document detection support.
    • Auto mode can automatically crop and deskew your photos to give you the best possible image for creating a PDF.
  • Improved support with the Files App and other file sharing apps.
    • You can now access and organise all of your PDF files from the On My iPad section in the File app.
  • Adds an option to overwrite the existing file when choosing to OCR a PDF.
    • This can help to reduce your workflow when creating OCR PDFs.
  • Adds an option to lock/unlock an annotation or video in place.
  • Improvements to the multimedia player.

Version 2.0.31 released 19 December 2017

In the 2.0.31 update of our ClaroPDF apps, we upgraded the OCR engine we use on our servers, so that when you use the Convert to Text PDF feature, your returned PDFs will be quicker to download and view as well as being faster when being annotated. This should make the whole conversion process a lot smoother.

  • Multiple documents
    • You can now open multiple documents in ClaroPDF.
    • Other documents are opened in a new tab and you can quickly switch between documents, for faster reading and annotating.
  • Photo to PDF
    • Now supports multiple images when choosing to create a PDF from your camera or photo library.
    • You can now also choose to add your created PDF pages to your current PDF.
    • Supports drag and drop of images into the ClaroPDF app. (Requires iOS 11 and an iPad that supports multitasking).
  • Delete PDF pages
    • You can delete PDF pages in the thumbnail view, by tapping the Edit tab and selecting pages to delete.
  • Acapela kids voices
    • A range of Acapela kids voices are available in 8 different language accents to download as in-app purchases.
  • Quick-look settings
    • The document settings have been moved and are now more easily accessible from a button on the bottom toolbar.
    • This makes it easier and quicker to change your document settings. You can also instantly see your new settings being applied, without having to navigate back through the settings menus.
  • New document setting: Scroll mode
    • You can now choose how the document is scrolled
      • Per page – this is standard page scrolling.
      • Continuous – scrolling is continuous and there are no page breaks.
  • Improved Autoscroll
    • Autoscroll no longer scrolls horizontally so all the speaking content should remain visible on screen.
    • Autoscroll now respects your zoom level.
  • Better support for RTF files
    • Supports importing of RTF files and saving as PDF.
    • Improves workflow between ClaroSpeak and ClaroPDF.
  • CereProc voices should be available and working again.
  • Lots of bug fixes

  • Four free voices – you can now download up to 4 of our high-quality voices for free, inside the Store in ClaroPDF.  ClaroPDF no longer comes pre-installed with any installed high-quality voices, so the initial app install time should be significantly reduced. Then you can choose to download your preferred voices in a wide range of languages.
  • Improvements to the “Convert as Text PDF” feature.  We’ve made big improvements to this feature so it should be faster and produces accessible PDF files from PDF images of text.
  • Export annotations as text – You can now choose to export your annotations as text; which you can send to any text reading app, such as Notes, or to an email, SMS app.  You can still choose to export as the XFDF format, which is the PDF standard file format for exporting/importing annotations.
  • New Animated Speech Highlighting on sentence mode. So when having text spoken back with synchronised highlight, the sentence highlighting has a subtle animation, improving transitions from one sentence to the next. This is sentence highlight only, and highlighting can be removed if preferred.
  • New background colour chooser – you can now change the page background colour to almost any colour.
  • New speech rate slider – this lets you choose more intricate values as sometimes the older predefined values were not accurate enough.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue with document thumbnails now previewing in the Documents list.
  • Fixed an issue with the bottom toolbar sometimes not being correctly shown again when the screen was tapped.
  • Fixed an issue where some user settings were not restored after a version update.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur in the My Documents list.
  • Many other fixes and performance improvements.

  • Improved startup – ClaroPDF should now launch faster and be smoother.
  • New PDF Documents list – The new PDF documents list in ClaroPDF is streamlined and helps you better to organise your documents. Documents are now arranged alphabetically with the added ability to search for files. You can also easily, move, rename and delete your documents.
  • iCloud Drive and more – ClaroPDF now supports opening from, and saving to, your iCloud Drive, as well as any other compatible apps.
  • Settings menu cleanup – Some settings have been taken out of ClaroPDF and now reside in the iOS Settings app.
  • Many bug fixes and performance improvements.

  • Photos and Image PDF to Text PDF Conversion – Now 5000 pages and photos can be converted using the 5000 included credits. Uses the Claro Cloud conversion service and requires an Internet connection.
  • You can now rename files and folders in your documents list.
  • Move multiple files at once with the updated folder system.
  • Improvements to ¡Cloud document sync. Now includes a reset button.
  • Many bug fixes and improvements.
  • Added some missing localisations.
  • Enabled landscape mode for iPhone and iPod devices.
  • Fixed a visual bug that could sometimes occur when selecting and scrolling down a large PDF documents list.
